Insurance Fraud Investigations
An article in today’s Wall Street Journal, dated July 9, 2009, by Barbara Martinez, describing yet another cabal of lawyers, doctors, patients and medical clinics involved in a complex scheme of health insurance fraud involving auto accidents, is the exact type and scope of fraud that Beacon International Group deals with on a daily basis with our corporate clients, law firms and insurance companies.
Our investigators have been involved with every level of this insidious white collar crime wave that is quickly becoming one of the leading causes of insurance premiums rising much faster and higher than our inflation rate would seem to justify. The current Administration is attempting to overhaul the health care system in the US, but until all parties having a stake in this, take their part seriously by reporting all suspected cases of fraud, then this problem will continue and more likely than not, get even worse.
Much like financial frauds perpetrated over a long period of time, there would have been many “red flags” able to be seen that should have brought this scheme to light long before it did.
